Guardians of Hope Launches Free IEP/504 Parent Resource Guide for Families

Guardians of Hope announces the release of the IEP/504 Parent Resource Guide, a free, comprehensive resource designed to help families understand and navigate the special education process. Developed with input from leading experts in child psychology, special education research, school leadership, and education law, the guide addresses a critical gap in resources available to parents.
The guide was created in response to a need identified within Guardians of Hope's 80,000-member community, where thousands of families expressed confusion and anxiety about the IEP (Individualized Education Program) and 504 Plan processes.
About the Guide
The IEP/504 Parent Resource Guide provides:
· Clear, jargon-free explanations of IEPs and 504 Plans
· The 13 IDEA disability categories and what qualifies
· Step-by-step guidance for requesting evaluations and preparing for meetings
· Parent rights and legal framework under IDEA
· Practical advocacy strategies from experienced parent advocates
· Real case studies showing families who won disputes with school districts
· How to find and work with special education attorneys
· Common mistakes parents make and how to avoid them
"This guide exists because I remember what it felt like to be confused, overwhelmed, and desperate for someone to translate the special education process into language I could understand," said Cynthia Ramsaran, Guardians of Hope Founder. "I created it because I know thousands of other parents feel exactly the same way."
There is no mention of Dyspraxia or DCD (Developmental Coordination Disorder) in the guide however it does reference other neurodevelopmental conditions and how to request support.
