MY STORY OF DYSPRAXIA

Hi my name is Isla, I was diagnosed with dyspraxia when I was 13. The thing I found hardest about having dyspraxia is the way I feel different from everyone. I feel like when I am in a busy environment I can hear everything single noise.

Another thing with my dyspraxia is my writing, to write neat I have to write slowly. If I start writing really quickly my writing becomes less readable.

Through having dyspraxia I have found coping mechanisms that help me, like being able to use a computer and get extra time in tests. School for people with neurodiversity can be a real struggle.

In the future I would love to get the government involved with funding so school can actually see what it is like to have a disability at school.

I love photography and now I am in college, I find school much easier as I can focus on something I love. So this is your reminder that things will get better.
